Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is presentation design?

"Presentation design is about creating visual aids (slides) that support, reinforce, and amplify your message when presenting. When you design powerful visual slides, your audience follows you and remembers what you say. It’s important to avoid the typical ‘death by PowerPoint’ with lots of text and bullet points on screen because people cannot read and listen at the same time."

  • What kind of projects need presentation design?

"Most types of presentations need presentation design. You don’t have to use slides all the time when presenting, but slides can help your audience better understand your message. Whether you are pitching for investment, selling your product/service or idea, motivating your team, or updating your boss on an important project, creating and designing a compelling presentation will make a difference in your communication."

  • How do I choose the right PowerPoint presentation designer?

"There are five elements to consider: 1) They can show you actual examples of outstanding work they completed with other clients. 2) Ask them about their background and qualifications. 3) They are great communicators and are easy to work with. 4) They can set deadlines for the submission of the project and can respect them. 5) They are crystal clear in terms of the required budget for any given project"

  • What are the types of presentation?

"- Sales pitch - Leadership communication - Investor pitch - Project update - Results presentation - Conference keynote - Online presentation / webinar - One-to-one presentation - Training course, workshop, web class, masterclass"

  • How do you layout a presentation?

"There are two key steps: creation of the message and design of the presentation. Message: start with a blank sheet of paper and write down the structure of your presentation. The best structure includes the following parts: - Introduction/hook - Key message 1 - Key message 2 - Key message 3 - Summary - Questions & Answers - Conclusion/Punchline Try to communicate not more than three key messages. This is a fundamental rule in communication called Rule of Three. Design: first storyboard on a piece of paper (or flipchart, whiteboard) how you want to visualize your key messages on PowerPoint. Then, when you start designing your slides on the presentation tool, remember the following design principles: - Picture Superiority Effect: images are more likely to be remembered than words. Keep your slides visual, avoid text and bullet points. - White space (also known as empty space or negative space): it is the empty area of a slide. Use as much white space as possible. One idea per slide, not more."
